Just an interesting aside: The content has been covered by other reviewers, so I'll limit my review to the instructional value of this book. Cutting to the chase, this is an excellent book for learning how to ink traditionally, with a brush and maybe some pens.
It has two sections: The practice section is the second half of the book and this is a goldmine of tips from established inkers. The way the second-half of the book works is as follows: By flipping back and forth between the penciled drawing and the different ways of inking it and reading the commentary!

To be a comprehensive book on inking comics, there needs to be a chapter on inking digitally or on how to adapt these "manual" techniques to "digital" tools like Photoshop or Illustrator. As mentioned above I use a Brother CW that can print at 11x I print my blue line pencils straight onto the board which saves me the time of having to lightbox my layouts.
I can also print out outlined typography if I want to included typography in my layout so all I have to do is ink it up. I have a template for all my pages and draw my digital layouts on it then print to the board. It pencils decently and it inks decently. Blue Line has been the go to board for many years as I think they were one of the first companies to make a comic paper the public can download. Most artists started out drawing on Blue Line Art Boards. They also usually have a pretty sizeable product line.
The pages I have done on thier paper however do tend to seem to yellow pretty fast. Both the plate and smooth are fine but the smooth has a bit of a waxy surface which can lead to pencils being a little inconsistent, but overall Blue Line has a good product.
They often have download one get one half off sales. The paper is excellent for pencilling. I really love pencilling on the paper. If you are simply a penciller you wouldnt hurt to download this stuff at all.
I use quite a few brush pens in my inking and they all seem to have a little fraying when the ink hits the paper. The Art of Gouache. Jeremy Ford.
