Bridget is 30 something and she works for a TV show as a reporter. Her mother is planning a trip to Kenya with a friend of her. Since 4 weeks and 5 days Bridget has got a boyfriend; Mark Darcy, who she knows trough her parents. Mark is a successful rich lawyer. When Bridget is introduced to Marks new colleague, Rebecca, a slim, intelligent, beautiful woman, Bridget gets suspicious and jealous. Rebecca is obviously interested in Mark. During the dinner Bridget embarrasses Mark by saying stupid things about politics. Bridget is very shocked and goes home. The whole book is full of funny stories and little misunderstandings.

A quick but sweet read. I had really mixed feelings throughout this book. My main qualm with this book was the ending - we all knew it was going to happen, yet when it actually happened, Fielding spent one page on it. No details, no explanations, just sort of glossed over rushed the ending.

Overall, not a bad read but I felt frustrated toward the end. Great book.

This is far by the best. It is original and funny. I was laughing through the whole book. I have actually reread it many times and I am just as in love with the book as I was when i first picked it up years ago.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Elizabeth from Incredibly Enjoyable This book is about growing up while trying to maintain sane with a cool, calm, and collected outer appearance. It's about learning to take your life seriously while trying not to take your life too seriously.

It is heart-warming and laugh-out-loud funny and a complete narrative of my early twenties. It's to be taken lightheartedly, and if you can do that, I think you'll find it incredibly enjoyable. Rebecca is there as well.

Bridget Jones

Rebecca makes sure that she gets all of Marks attention, and Bridget gets more and more jealous. Unfortunately, at this point Marks walks into the room and thinks Bridget is cheating on him. He splits up with her and Bridget feels shit. She starts working on her carrier as a journalist. She goes to Rome for the interview. She has an amazing time, but off course she makes a fool of herself, and she messes up the interview. Another character in the book is Magda, she is a friend of Bridget as well, but not as close with Bridget as Jude and Shazzer.

Jude makes the announcement that she s going to marry Vile Richard.

Bridget Jones: the edge of reason

They were going out before, but he let Jude down a few times. When they let Jude know about their feelings, she is very pissed of with her friends, and they end up in a argument. Rebecca lets Bridget and Shazzer sleep in dodgy beds and she is sleeping in one bed with Mark Darcy!

The water is so undeep, that Rebecca breaks her ankle. At the same time, Giles is missing, so Bridget goes looking for him.

She finds him in his bedroom, with an overdose of pills in his stomach. Fortunately, the doctor arrives on time to help the poor Giles he is depressed cause his wife left him.

After this horrible party, Bridget and Sharon decide to go on a holiday to Thailand.

The only thing that bothers Bridget is she has to lose weight before she can were a bikini. The day before Bridget goes to Thailand, her mother invites her for a family dinner.

Mark Darcy and his parents are there as well.

Mark wants to give Bridget a letter, but as he walks in her direction, he pushes over a statue, and gives Bridget the wrong paper. If Bridget felt the same for him, she had to call him that night, else he would stop bothering her. Bridget never called him, as she never received his letter.
