Outlook Web App Address Book

Outlook Web Access provides a useful set of tools for your business, including the Global Address Book for storing all of your contact information in one. If your email account is configured so that you can use Outlook Web Access, or OWA, to send and receive email, you can also use the Web-based application to . While you can change the default in OWA , sadly you cannot change the default address list, when bringing up the Address Book or by.

On the People page, on the toolbar, select New contact. Enter details for the contact. Select Add more to add more information, such as the contact's address and birthday. Select Create. Add a contact from someone's profile card When you click someone's name or picture in Outlook or other Office apps and services, you'll see their profile card with information about them. From their profile card, you can save them to your own contacts, for example if you want to add Notes or other information. Here's how you can add a contact from an email message: In Mail, open an email message in the reading pane, and then select the name of the sender or recipient you want to add to your contacts. Add more information if you want. Add people in your organization to your saved contacts If your company has a directory set up, you'll be able to see information about your colleagues without saving them as contacts. You can search for them or select their name or picture from an email message. Their profile card will show information collected from other systems directory. If you want to add other information, such as notes, you can save your colleagues to your own contacts. The new contact is auto-linked to the existing directory contact. Only you will see the information you add.

So that's a state I could life with until the old DCs are uninstalled. But I don't know for sure, if that's really the point. So that's no really solution, more some kind of workaround - but it's working and I will know for sure, when the old DCs are gone. If you'd have further ideas I would be happy to try them out - otherwise I'll come back to this thread after the old DCs were uninstalled and report if that solved the problems - or not.

I reviewed this thread and notice "The address lists and the Default Global Address List have been upgraded from legacy to mode". It's sometimes more often, sometimes not-so-often. My DC-theory was well but not able to reproduce or proof. Nothing points to AD related issues in any way. All other connections work just fine. Outlook and with that OAB is fine. ActiveSync-access is fine, everything else is fine and working as expected. It's just this addresslist problem.

Are we really the only company that has this problem?

It's no really-urgent-problem but it annoys users more the longer it persists and I'm willing to finally fix this. Basically random subsets of users were omitted from the list in OWA. Was not server specific. Something to do with the way results were displayed in the then paged Address Book list compared to how the users were pulled.

At the time was about to be released so they said it would not be fixed or investigated further unless enough business cases for the fix were submitted. Ok, now for the setup and for what I already tried: Multiple domain controllers, one R2 on different sites - all with low to moderate load to be honest, mostly they're idle There are no error-logs that indicate any problem with Exchange, the GAL or the OAB.

After you create a contact list in a folder, it isn't possible to move it to a different folder.
