So that's a state I could life with until the old DCs are uninstalled. But I don't know for sure, if that's really the point. So that's no really solution, more some kind of workaround - but it's working and I will know for sure, when the old DCs are gone. I reviewed this thread and notice "The address lists and the Default Global Address List have been upgraded from legacy to mode". It's sometimes more often, sometimes not-so-often. My DC-theory was well but not able to reproduce or proof. Nothing points to AD related issues in any way. All other connections work just fine. Outlook and with that OAB is fine. ActiveSync-access is fine, everything else is fine and working as expected. It's just this addresslist problem.
Are we really the only company that has this problem?
It's no really-urgent-problem but it annoys users more the longer it persists and I'm willing to finally fix this. Basically random subsets of users were omitted from the list in OWA. Was not server specific. Something to do with the way results were displayed in the then paged Address Book list compared to how the users were pulled.
