Little, Brown $ (p) ISBN You Know You Love Me is the sequel to Gossip Girl and thus serves as the second installment in the original Gossip Girl series by Cecily von.

College interviews, romantic troubles and a fancy wedding photographed for Vogue dominate this second installment of von Ziegesar's frothy but fun series about rich Manhattan prep school kids and the gossip Web site tracking their lives. Blair Waldorf's mother is marrying her "seriously tacky" boyfriend on Blair's birthday and has chosen the bulimic overachiever's former best friend Serena as a bridesmaid Blair will be maid of honor. Meanwhile, "hunky" Nate avoids Blair he's secretly seeing chesty Jenny Humphrey , and the compounded stress makes her act like a "freakshow" during her Yale interview. Blonde bombshell Serena is disturbed by poet Dan's intense affections, struggles through her own interview at Brown and scores first prize in a school film contest. The plot culminates at the wedding, where the girls' boy troubles come to a head. As with her Gossip Girl , von Ziegesar creates a complete world: While this is still strictly a guilty pleasure, the story lines are better developed in this volume and the characters show more growth.

She doesn't know that he's more interested in Brown University or maybe even taking a year off of school to sail around the world with his father. Dan Humphrey is also a senior. He is madly in love with the beautiful Serena, who used to be close friends with Blair. However, Blair cut off the friendship and made Serena a social outcast after she discovered that Serena and Nate had sex before Serena had gone off to boarding school. Now, Serena is happy to have Dan in her life. She needs a good friend.

The two make plans to tour the Brown campus together.

Lifestyles of the rich and shameless should be full of partying and good times, but Serena, Blair, Nate, and the not so rich Dan, Jenny, and Vanessa are anything but. Sure, good times are had, but drama is the main course on the menu. And Vanessa is still hopelessly in love with the ever unaware Dan. Someon Lifestyles of the rich and shameless should be full of partying and good times, but Serena, Blair, Nate, and the not so rich Dan, Jenny, and Vanessa are anything but.

You Know You Love Me picks up right where the first Gossip Girl left off and it is just as drama-filled and insane as the first. The characters each began to develop so much more in this installment and Dan shows his true stalker colors. Out of all the characters, I like his the least. The poetic, sensitive, depressed artsy thing he has going just does not work. I still kind of love Serena though.

You Know You Love Me: A Gossip Girl Novel Summary & Study Guide

Nate is still a stoner, but is getting a little more depth with his new thing for Jenny. Or maybe I just pity her.

The Gossip Girl series is definitely a guilty pleasure for me. Opening line: Favorite line: This series is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Who can resist the lives of Manhattan's Elite?

In all seriousness, for the age demographic that this is written for, and the information placed throughout the novel, its definitely a hit. Much like I was when I read the first one again after years passing since my first experience with it, I was taken up with the lives of the main characters and instantly drawn in.

Also being a fan of the show and certain couples, going back and seeing them pla This series is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Also being a fan of the show and certain couples, going back and seeing them play out in the novel is a lot of fun.

I'm also a fan of the Blair and Serena friendship and despite all of the issues that face them, both in the show and in the books, I do so much like seeing them come together, even if its only for a short period of time. Loved this book, heading on to read part three now.

YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME: A Gossip Girl Novel

Definitely a great fast and easy read and one where if you're like me, you won't be able to put down. Sep 16, shamena rated it did not like it Shelves: I will stick to rewatching the tv show- won't be continuing with the series Mar 24, Alexa Hamilton rated it did not like it Shelves: I read this so I could continue to badmouth these books knowing what exactly the problems with them are.

You know, with the amount of cigarette smoking in these books, especially indoors, these books could not take place now. But then there's Gossip Girl on the internet, but not all the characters appear to have or properly use their cell phones.

The time period is a bit bizarre. And the characters are insane. Everyone sort of has the same collection of problems. I don't recommend these books I read this so I could continue to badmouth these books knowing what exactly the problems with them are. I don't recommend these books to anyone.

Jun 02, Natalie Monroe rated it it was ok Shelves: There's so much name-dropping in these books View all 4 comments. Sep 09, Richie Chagas rated it liked it Shelves: Lo mejor de este libro es lo interesante y entretenido que es.

Mar 16, Evey rated it it was ok Shelves: I honestly don't know what I'm doing anymore. Like, these books aren't good nor remotely close to that , and still I sort of need to keep reading. What for? I don't know either. Its shallow, selfish, vapid characters hold little interest for me. And the narrative style isn't any better, truth be told.

As I said in my not-really-a-review of the previous book, this is just a trashy read. Nothing more. Mar 02, Abbie rated it liked it. The characters in this were the same as the last one.

I didn't love them, and there were quite a few times where they annoyed me. This wasn't a brilliant read, but it was better than the first one. This was not my cup of tea. Lots and lots of spelling and grammatical errors in the ebook copy I read, and the characters were all SO annoying to me.
