The writing is fantastic, and the reader will often burst out laughing, so don't read this in a public place if you embarrass easily.
The characters are very endearing.
Couldn't put the book down. Best cozy mystery. Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by AO from Seriously? Pricing is outrageous. I've heard great things about this series, but for this price, I think I'll stick to downloading the paper copy Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by Book lover from Ridiculous One star simply for the price. I cannot believe a publisher thinks it is acceptable to charge this for an eBook. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by macneil from Ridiculous It caught me by surprise!
I've often seen this series and have always put off reading it. I finally picked up the first book and now I'm hooked.
The characters are easygoing, humorous and bright. It's a colorful chain of events that keep the reader bound to the book and the action. A pleasant discovery!

It introduces you to Stephanie Plum and the rest of the characters who are in the rest of the series. It is a laugh out loud book.
The stuff that happens to this poor woman is hilarious. I can't put the book down and am eager for the next. The whole series is awesome. You can't wait to keep reading to see what is going to happen next to Stephanie and her friends and family.
This was made into a movie and was nice to put faces to names. I would really recommend this series. It is an awesome read.
Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by neilandkarina from Ridiculous An exciting and funny book from the first chapter. Follow Stephanie Plum and she stumbles her way through her new job as a bounty hunter.
Will she catch the guy? Well down to a lot of luck and being in the right place at the wrong time she tries her hardest.
And anyway who wouldn't want to catch the guy who stole her virginity. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Denise L from Ridiculous fantastic. You can put it aside and stop reading.

Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Sandra T from Ridiculous I read this book quite some time ago, but I remember laughing out loud at times.
The whole series is just so amusing and quirky. I love Stephanie Plumb and all of the other characters in these books. Can't wait to read the next one Date published: More like an apprehensive agent, and the descriptions are hilarious. Yep, her cop foil and first-love is wanted for allegedly shooting an unarmed suspect. Morelli claims there were other guys in the apartment, and there was a gun, but that doesn't change the fact that Plum needs to bring him in to get the money.
And she isn't experienced enough to match wits with him for most of the book. But she has help from a lot of extra support characters -- Ranger, the experienced bounty-hunter; Vincent, the bail bondsman; and Plum's family.
I was looking forward to finding another author to read. However I only read the first 10 pages of this book. Stephanie is molested at age 6 by an 8 yr old boy. This same boy takes advantage of her as a teenager.
In retaliation, she hits him with her car. This is all supposed to be funny, but I found it terribly sad.
There was far too much profane language and ugly concepts even in the first 10 pages. I crossed Evanovich off my list of authors to read. This was a pretty decent book; it's a mystery, but for the most part, it doesn't read like a formulaic mystery: murder, clues, resolution. It reads more like a book about Stephanie's life, and her new job as a bounty hunter and all the dangers that go along with that. No, it's not "classical literature", but it was a fun read and I'll probably read at least a couple more from the series.
Like ArapahoeAlice Sep 03, I laughed so hard reading this that I had an asthma attack--and it was worth it. This is the novel that made Janet Evanovich a best-selling author.
Stephanie Plum, having lost her job downloading lingerie, takes a job as a bounty hunter.
